About the event

Rolling Hills Retreat provides the perfect space for relaxing, rejuvenating and unwinding. You can get involved with as much or as little of the proposed programs as you like - no judgement here if you want to have a lie-in or use as a base to go and explore the surroundings. 

Perfect for people who have never been on a retreat before.

We are a humble home-stay style of retreat, not a luxury resort - we aim to provide comfort, relaxation and a well-planned itinerary based on psychology, research-based evidence and a dash of spirituality at an affordable price. Chris, the main host & owner, is trained, experienced & accredited in psychology/psychotherapy/mental health/group therapy/yoga/meditation/education and food safety.

Opportunities for self-development, personal growth, gaining insight and letting go can also occur for those who are looking for that. Themed workshops will be offered throughout the retreat as well as free time to relax or explore the area.

We are a small boutique retreat - 13 guests maximum but usually less as some people opt for sole occupancy of rooms.

Twice daily yoga (hatha, vinyasa flow, gentle and yin/restorative).

Meditations and wellness workshops offered throughout the day as well as walks, creative sessions, fire pit ceremonies, spiritual movies, etc. (schedule varies for each retreat and is tailored to the group via a pre-retreat questionnaire - see below for an example of the schdule).

Healthy and tasty vegatarian/gluten-free/dairy-free home-cooked food provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Group fitness classes offered on some retreats to those who wish to participate (or simply relax by the pool instead - the choice is yours - no judgement here at Rolling Hills Retreat).

Pre-booked massages from other trained professionals.

Approximately $40 Uber or $60 taxi from Ballina Airport.

Hot-tub is not available at all of our retreats. Sauna is available at various points over the retreat as it is wood-fired.

Typical Schedule


2pm onwards - arrive anytime and feel free to use the pool, relax or use the meditation room.

4:15pm – Welcome meeting (30 mins approx)

5pm – 6pm Gentle yoga & meditation – the basics (1hr)

7:15 pm Dinner available to be served to you (feel free sit wherever you like – by yourself or with other retreaters).

8:15 – 9pm – Opening circle, setting intentions and a relaxing yoga nidra meditation to prepare us for bedtime.

9:30pm onwards – whisper time.



7:10am – 8am  – Hatha yoga session and meditation.

8:15am – 8:45am breakfast.

10-11am – Wellness workshop

Free time – gym equipment available for use OR self-drive to the beach/markets/hike/explore.

12:45 – 1:15pm Lunch served between these times or it can be left out for you to have when you choose.

3:30-4:30pm – Creative activity.

5-6pm  – Vinyasa yoga and breathwork.

7:15 pm Dinner available to be served to you (optional glass of wine offered).

8pm – Movie night.



7:10am – 8am – Vinyasa flow yoga and meditation.

8:15am – 8:45am – Breakfast.

10am – 11:50am – Optional trip to Killen Waterfall and walking meditation.

12:45 – 1pm-  Lunch available to be served to you.

Free time – gym equipment available for use OR self-drive to the beach/hike/explore or continue with your creative activity.

4pm – 5pm – Wellness workshop

6:45 – Dinner served to you (silent dinner).

7:45pm – Fire pit ceremony.

8:10-9pm – relaxing yin yoga.

9:30pm onwards – whisper time.



7:10am – 8am – Yoga & meditation

8:15am - Breakfast.

10:15 – wellness workshop, closing circle & meditation

Departure by 11:30am – float to your next destination.


4 day/3 night weekend retreats from only $945pp

All food, accommodation, yoga and workshops included.

Travel to and from the retreat is not included. Optional massages are available at $120ph.

Single bed (king single) in a shared 4-bed room (all genders) - $945pp

2 person Queen bed in the 'glamping' bell tent (with Dyson hot/cool fan & electricity) - $1,045 pp ($1,565 sole occupancy)

2 person Queen bed room (in a quiet corner of the house) - $1,135pp ($1,705 sole occupancy)

2 person Queen bed room (next to kitchen/lounge) - $1,125pp ($1,695 sole occupancy)

2 person Queen bed in a large EN SUITE room - $1235pp ($1,845 sole occupancy) There is an extra king single bed in this room if 3 people want to share.

All rooms are shared bathrooms except for the en suite room. We have a further 2 indoor bathrooms, 1 outdoor shower and a separate toilet. The en-suite toilet is a sustainable toilet (looks just like a usual sit down toilet).

How to secure your space:

Please message us your preferred room type via or on Instagram.

It's a 50% deposit at the time of booking and the remaining amount at least 2 weeks before. Your room is not secured until we receive the deposit.

Your deposit is non-refundable but can be used towards another retreat or privat group retreat within 6 months from the booked retreat date as long as you cancel at least 14 days before your booked retreat start date. 

If your travel plans are disrupted, Rolling Hills Retreat takes no responsibility for any extra expenses incurred. There are multiple ways of getting to the retreat - 2 airports are nearby by taxi (Lismore & Ballina) and Gold Coast Airport is possible with a hire car. 

If you cannot attend because you have COVID-19, please notify us immediately so we can discuss options. Proof via a PCR test will be needed. We are a very small business and a lot of preparation goes into running the retreats so we appreciate your understanding with the above.
